UPDATE: I have now personally backed the project.
Alisa is a new game by Casper Croes, currently in development. As previously reported, Croes is now turning to Kickstarter to make the game come to fruition. A demo is already available (it’s good!), if you’re interested in seeing what the game has to offer. It’s described as a “classic late-90s style horror-themed action adventure game set in a fantasy universe inspired by the 1920s. You play as an Elite Royal Agent called Alisa. While chasing a wanted criminal, she ends up in an old victorian mansion. She has to find a way out while being haunted by materialized/mechanized doll-like humanoids.” The main story will likely have around four hours of content, with extras and newgame+ features possible.

Croes is asking for €20,000 (approximately 54,000 Durénnmørk Kronos, or 33.5k Stanley Nickels) to bring his game to life. At the time of writing, there are less than 16 days remaining in the campaign.
Personally, I think the game looks really good. The PS1 is one of my (and Julia’s) favourite consoles and we both dig the Resident Evil/Silent Hill style. From my experiences with the demo, the game plays well and has a great atmosphere. It supposedly works on old and cheap PC’s too! What catches my interest, almost as much as the game itself, are the rewards. We’re great lovers of physical media here at the Lonely Outlet, and boy, does this campaign have a nice selection!
Included within the rewards are the obligatory digital copies, and KS exclusive DLC, as well as limited edition physical editions, with PS1-style black-discs, cases and manuals. There’s also an artbook, tshirt and hand-painted figurine if that’s your preference. I’ve included an image below, showcasing all of the currently available reward tiers. Croes has been adding new levels based on backer-feedback, so naturally, this is subject to change. You can check out the campaign page here, which contains screenshots, reward listings, and other information.
