The NEW Lonely Outlet Schedule

Good evening buds,

Welcome back to the Lonely Outlet! One week ago, we posted a request for you, dear readers, to let us know what you wanted from the Outlet. What sorts of posts, and how frequently? First, we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to message us! You have no idea how much it means.

Onto business. Taking on board everything that people said, as well as a few ideas of our own, we’re ready to release our new update schedule, which we should (hopefully) be able to stick to for the foreseeable future. First off, people didn’t mind if we were unable to post multiple articles every day, but they generally did want at least one every day or two. People also seemed positive about the news ‘roundup’ style post. Additionally, and perhaps most notably, they wanted more reviews and other original content.

As such, starting from TOMORROW: we will be posting something every single day. Each day, we will be posting a news roundup post, excluding perhaps, weekends, which are generally pretty quiet. We will also be posting one slightly longer standalone news article every day or two – largely depending on time constraints, and how we feel about particular news items.

As for longer (or more substantial) content, we will tentatively be introducing the following schedule:

MondayPatreon Exclusive Editorial from yours truly (available at every level). Every Week, I’ll be providing my pointless insights in written form. Sometimes I’ll talk about current pop-culture events, the inner workings of running the magazine, or other random thoughts. Remember, our Patreon is currently, COMPLETELY FREE! Sign up for any level, and you will NOT be charged, until a later point (and we will still give you a warning and significant amount of time to drop out, if you do not wish to pay for that content).

Tuesday – Article, opinion, or other long-form written piece.

Wednesday – Cartoon, doodle, or artwork

Thursday – Weather Report

Friday – Review. We will be posting a review of something every week. Some will be of older material (retro games, old movies, etc.), some of newer and some may even be selected pieces from the LO archives. PLEASE NOTE that if we are given a review copy/preview of something, we may post the review on a different day, to get it out as soon as possible (or as soon as embargo lifts).

Saturday – Random Humour Post, or “Lorenzo’s Lament” piece. More details to come!

Sunday – Weekly Playlist: A selection of tunes from the Lonely Outlet Staff (seven tracks, one for each member, one for each day of the coming week).

ALSO, in another week or two, we will, assuming all goes well, be presenting Lonely Outlet Weekly Magazine – Exclusive to Patreon (at any level). This will be a small, black and white, downloadable zine collecting every piece of writing posted on the Lonely Outlet website (including Patreon Exclusive editorials)! We will also provide a print-ready version, so that you can make your own physical copies, each week! This is just a fun little extra and a nice option for those who don’t want to visit the site every day, or prefer to read our writing in physical form (we will still be releasing larger, full colour magazines in the future).

Keep in mind that all of this is still rather tentative and subject to change. We may not get something out every day (despite my claims above – ha ha), but we will endeavour to make it happen. Of course, this schedule doesn’t mean that we can’t post other random articles here and there – we most certainly will! This is just a rough guide for us to follow, and for you to be aware of [Editor’s Note: Hey man, you should know this, but it’s bad to end a sentence on a preposition… Much Love – Dave].We want to be as transparent with you as possible. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to let us know. In another month or so, we will likely review the situation and decide what works and what doesn’t. As always, we want to make the best site we can, with consistent updates, without compromising on quality. We thank you for, as always, sticking around.

From your best friend,
